In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found moderate-quality evidence that training workers to use earplugs correctly reduces short-term noise exposure. Researchers also found very low-quality evidence that legislation to reduce noise levels in workplaces and better use of hearing protection devices through hearing loss prevention programs can reduce the risk of hearing loss.
