The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends that primary care clinicians provide interventions to pregnant women and new mothers to support breastfeeding during pregnancy and after birth. Specifically, USPSTF recommends:

  • Promoting breastfeeding
  • Providing information on how to breastfeed
  • Providing support for breastfeeding
