Celebrating Physical Fitness and Sports

May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month! This month, organizations, schools, worksites, and communities across the nation are celebrating the benefits of being physically active, and the strides we've all made to help Americans move more. During May, take some extra time to enjoy the fun and excitement of being physically active with your friends, coworkers, and family.

This week, we highlight a team sport for people with limited vision, and share controversy surrounding safety of exercise after heat stroke:

Goalball is premier team game for the blind (Source:  The Seattle Times)  The game of goalball presents a rare opportunity for those with limited vision to participate in team sports. 

After heatstroke, when is it safe to exercise? (Source:  New York Times)  Basic physiology of a heatstroke is explained.
