Abstract

The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC) was established in 1999 with the mission to improve the quality of life in communities through the increase of safe walking and bicycling as a viable means of transportation and physical activity. PBIC is part of the larger Bicycle and Pedestrian Program of the Federal Highway Administrationís Office of Human and Natural Environment. Through comprehensive Web sites, PBIC offers information and training to diverse audiences about health and safety, engineering, advocacy, education, enforcement, access, and mobility as it relates to pedestrians and bicyclists.
