Abstract
The National Leigh's Disease Foundation was founded to raise funds for medical research on Leigh's Disease; to share contact information on physicians who are familiar with Leigh's Disease; to make available the names and addresses of individuals who are affected by Leigh's disease to others with the same or similar diseases who are searching for support and information; to cooperate with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) in their lobbying efforts to promote federal legislation favorable to research for rare disorders; to share information by newsletter, personal contact and telephone concerning research, efforts to fund research and medical information, and generally providing a focal point for comunication; and to construct guidelines for fund-raising and organization of NLDF chapters.
